There are going to be some changes to the MOT process in May. The DVSA has issued a brief outlined of the five major changes that are going to be introduced.

There are going to be more strict more rules on Emissions – such as any coloured smoke being produced from vehicles and DPF testing procedures. Some new things are going to be added due to newer features being added to vehicles, for example daylight running lights.

The way things are categorise will be changing as well. Things that would fail at the moment, might become passable due to the new ‘Minor’ category, where they are advised to be repaired as soon possible. So it might mean, tedious things that vehicles normally fail on are going to be HEAVILY passed and advised. These will be things that need attention.
